It was a difficult time for me (Ramalatha) to get the loan from the money lenders as I had no worth while assets to place as collateral .This disabled me from providing education to my children. Really it was the moment where I was in the need of money to support my family. I came to know about the micro lending institution by name Spandana which was just started in our place (Kachiguda). I have availed the opportunity by joining as a member in the group and had taken a loan of Rs 8000/- and started a petty shop, which could fetch me earnings of Rs.500/- per day. Subsequently I have got a loan amount of Rs.10000/- and Rs.15000/-. Thus I could say about the words of success which helped me eventually to inherit my property with a refrigerator, color T.V. and a two storied building at my place.

 

I (Shahnaz begum) would start with tears rolling in my eyes when I say about myself from the age of childhood. Losing my father and then my husband made me a depressed person in the society. It was a hard time for me at that moment to give the bread and butter for my children who were two daughters and a son. So the entire responsibility was left on me in bringing up my family. There were even days which had to be passed without eating food in order to fulfill the hunger of my children. In the due course of time, I have found a credit assistant from Spandana speaking about the group loans. In fact I thought, it was a right moment for me by taking the loan and I have joined a group of nine members. So for the first time, I have taken the loan amount of Rs 7000/- and started the business of footwear. As my business grew I was given bigger loan amount of Rs.10000/- and Rs.12000/- for the two consecutive years, which gave me an opportunity to start a laundry business. Now I am really happy to say with tears of joy in saving Rs 30,000 for the secured life of my two daughters. So I am thankful to Spandana for giving me right opportunity at the right time to bring back a colorful life.

I would like to tell about my life. Problems were after me in a way that my life was bereft of basic needs. In those days, I was seeking financial assistance to enable me to start a business. At that time Spandana came to my rescue by providing me small loan of Rs 7000/- .I started a STD booth in order to increase my earnings. The earnings from the loan (7000/-) enabled me in starting a petty shop in a short span of time. Even though, I was handicapped at that moment when my husband was caught in a mishap, I was able to develop and sustain the business with subsequent bigger loan amount of Rs 10,000.Thus, I am proud to say about the loans given my Spandana which had rescued both the lives of me and my husband.
